Er is gerapporteerd dat het gebruik van corticostero\u00efden in paarden laminitis kan induceren. Daarom dienen paarden die met dergelijke preparaten worden behandeld regelmatig te worden gecontroleerd gedurende de behandelperiode.<\/p>\n<p>Als gevolg van de farmacologische eigenschappen van het werkzaam bestanddeel moet er extra opgelet worden als het product wordt gebruikt in dieren met een verzwakt immuunsysteem.<\/p>\n<p>Behalve in gevallen van acetonemie en inductie van de partus, induceert toediening van corticostero\u00efden vooral een verbetering van de klinische symptomen in plaats van genezing. De onderliggende ziekte moet verder worden onderzocht.<\/p>\n<p>Wanneer groepen dieren worden behandeld, wordt het gebruik van een opzuignaald aangeraden om overmatig aanprikken van de stop te voorkomen. Het maximum aantal maal aanprikken dient beperkt te worden tot 50 keer.<\/p>\n<p>Na intra-articulaire toediening dient het gebruik van het gewricht geminimaliseerd te worden gedurende \u00e9\u00e9n maand en operaties aan het gewricht dienen niet te worden uitgevoerd binnen acht weken na gebruik van deze toedieningsweg.<\/p>\n<p><strong><b>Speciale voorzorgsmaatregelen, te nemen door degene die het geneesmiddel aan de dieren toedient <\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dit diergeneesmiddel bevat dexamethason, wat bij sommige mensen allergische reacties kan veroorzaken.<\/p>\n<p>Personen met een bekende overgevoeligheid voor het werkzaam bestanddeel of \u00e9\u00e9n van de hulpstoffen moeten contact met het diergeneesmiddel vermijden.<\/p>\n<p>Was de handen na toedienen van het diergeneesmiddel.<\/p>\n<p>In geval van accidentele zelfinjectie, dient onmiddellijk een arts te worden geraadpleegd en de bijsluiter of het etiket te worden getoond.<\/p>\n<p>Zwangere vrouwen mogen dit diergeneesmiddel niet toedienen.<\/p>\n<p><strong><b>Gebruik tijdens dracht, lactatie of leg<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Met uitzondering van het gebruik van het product voor partusinductie bij runderen, worden corticostero\u00efden afgeraden voor gebruik bij drachtige dieren. Toediening laat in de dracht kan vroeggeboorte of abortus veroorzaken.<\/p>\n<p>Gebruik van het diergeneesmiddel in lacterende koeien kan een verminderde melkgift veroorzaken.<\/p>\n<p><strong><b>Interacties met andere geneesmiddelen (en andere vormen van interactie)<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Gelijktijdig gebruik met NSAID\u2019s kan ulceratie in het maagdarmkanaal verergeren.<\/p>\n<p>Omdat corticostero\u00efden de immuunrespons op vaccinatie kunnen verminderen, dient dexamethason niet gebruikt te worden in combinatie met vaccins of binnen twee weken na vaccinatie.<\/p>\n<p>Toediening van dexamethason kan hypokaliaemie induceren en daarmee het risico op toxiciteit van cardiale glycosiden vergroten. Het risico op hypokaliaemie kan verhoogd zijn als dexamethason gelijktijdig met kalium-afvoerende diuretica wordt toegediend.<\/p>\n<p>Gelijktijdig gebruik met anticholinesterase kan leiden tot Waar enkelvoudige hoge doseringen in het algemeen goed worden getolereerd, kunnen deze ernstige bijwerkingen teweegbrengen bij langdurig gebruik en bij toediening van esters met een lange werkingsduur.<\/p>\n<p>De dosering bij middellang- tot langdurig gebruik moet daarom over het algemeen zo laag als mogelijk zijn voor het onder controle houden van symptomen.<\/p>\n<p>Stero\u00efden kunnen tijdens de behandeling iatrogeen hyperadrenocorticisme (Syndroom van Cushing) veroorzaken, waarbij significante veranderingen optreden in de vet-, koolhydraat-, eiwit- en mineralenstofwisseling, hetgeen kan leiden tot redistributie van lichaamsvet, spierzwakte en -verlies en osteoporose.<\/p>\n<p>Tijdens de behandeling onderdrukken effectieve doses de hypothalamus-hypofyse-bijnier-as. Na be\u00ebindigen van de behandeling kunnen symptomen van bijnierinsuffici\u00ebntie, uitbreidend tot adrenocorticale atrofie ontstaan en dit kan ertoe leiden dat het dier niet adequaat met stressvolle situaties om kan gaan.<\/p>\n<p>Manieren om na be\u00ebindiging van de behandeling problemen van bijnierinsuffici\u00ebntie te minimaliseren moeten daarom in overweging genomen worden.<\/p>\n<p>Vooral gedurende de vroege stadia van behandeling kunnen systemisch toegediende corticostero\u00efden polyurie, polydipsie en polyfagie veroorzaken. Sommige corticostero\u00efden kunnen bij langdurig gebruik natrium- en waterretentie en hypokaliaemie veroorzaken. Systemische corticostero\u00efden hebben calciumafzetting in de huid (calcinosis cutis) veroorzaakt.<\/p>\n<p>Corticostero\u00efden kunnen de wondgenezing vertragen en de immunosuppressieve werking kan de weerstand tegen infecties verlagen of bestaande infecties verergeren. Bij een bacteri\u00eble infectie is antibacteri\u00eble medicatie meestal nodig wanneer stero\u00efden worden gebruikt. Bij een virale infectie kunnen stero\u00efden de voortgang van de ziekte verergeren of versnellen.<\/p>\n<p>Gastro-intestinale ulceratie is gemeld in dieren die behandeld waren met corticostero\u00efden en gastro-intestinale ulceratie kan worden verergerd door stero\u00efden in dieren die NSAID\u2019s toegediend krijgen en in dieren met ruggenmergtrauma. Stero\u00efden kunnen een vergroting van de lever (hepatomegalie) veroorzaken gepaard gaande met verhoogde serum leverenzymen.<\/p>\n<p>Het gebruik van corticostero\u00efden kan veranderingen induceren in biochemische en hematologische bloedparameters. Tijdelijke hyperglycaemie kan optreden.<\/p>\n<p>Als het product wordt gebruikt voor partusinductie in runderen, kan een hoge incidentie van placentaretentie en mogelijk daaropvolgend metritis en\/of verminderde fertiliteit worden waargenomen. Dergelijk gebruik van dexamethason, vooral op vroege tijdstippen, kan geassocieerd zijn met verminderde levensvatbaarheid van het kalf.<\/p>\n<p>Het gebruik van corticostero\u00efden kan het risico op acute pancreatitis vergroten. Andere mogelijke bijwerkingen die verband houden met het gebruik van corticostero\u00efden zijn laminitis en vermindering van de melkopbrengst.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><footer
